Tunnel Vision participating in City of Hope Vinyl Covers Record Release

The Making of the Vinyl Covers project

The concept is simple….Let’s beat cancer with music. We select songs from the pre-digital era recorded and released on the original ‘wax and vinyl’ long playing records of yesteryear.  No genre restricted…

It starts with a simple track, an ambitious and sometimes daring approach to these classics by emerging young talent as well as established artists with updated ideas about their or someone else’s vinyl era song.

City of Hope Vinyl Covers will be releasing the first ever record featuring an “A” (amazing emerging artists) side donating their contemporary renditions of classic songs as well as a “B” (been there, doing it) which will have tracks donated by touring and established artists contributing their favorite tracks from the pre-digital era of recorded music and comedy.

The album is set to be released October 26 and is produced by Michael Dumas at Horse Latitudes Studios in Glendale, California. Robby Krieger, founding member/songwriter of the Doors has generously donated his state of the art studio designed by Michael for the tracking of several “A” and “B” side artists.

“A” siders include ‘Dig the Kid’, ‘Shayna Adler’, ‘Chris Warner (ex-jet west)’, ‘Hobie Givens’, ‘Tunnel Vision’, ‘The Raskins’, ‘Old James’, ‘Sheppards Kingdom’ and more.

“B” siders will be featuring tracks from Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie/Jeff Beck group), Dwight Twilley (pop rocker/writer) , guitar legend Danny Johnson (Steppenwolf, Derringer), The Expendables, Kaleo Wassman (Pepper) and others stepping up to the plate as their busy schedules allow.

A ‘LIVE’ release event is scheduled that same date at the beautiful Alex Theatre in Glendale, California and is being produced as a team effor by Glendale Arts and the Music Path foundations for the City of Hope Vinyl Covers project. L.A. radio legend and comedic actor/writer Brian Phelps (Mark & Brian show-KLOS) will be the evening’s host. Save the date!
